Line of the Day...

I was reading for a fairly regular client today.  She is a wonderful person. She's highly educated. She's kind and giving. She also has one of the most negative attitudes I have ever encountered when it comes to her love life / romance. She sets up land mines for herself left and right.  She is a really good example to me.  Every time I read her, I am shown in yet another way how fear can prevent us from having so much good in our lives and relationships.  Today she was in a particularly argumentative mood.  I would answer her questions honestly and she would come back at me with some fear based reason why she thought that what I was saying was wrong. This went on and on and on and on and on .... so I finally said:
"You know you're arguing with everything I say today."  She responded with, "I am not!"

I love my job!  I love my clients!  I am thankful for the lessons that I learn while doing my job on a daily basis.

Gratitude Time

It's a cloudy, chilly Sunday morning in my world.  Everyone is healthy in my house and I'm feeling good about this day.  We are having a fish fry later to celebrate the birth of one of my children.  I love other people's birthdays!!!  So I have quite a bit to be thankful for today.  Here goes:

  1. Birthday celebrations

  2. Perfect health

  3. Cloudy days

  4. Warm slippers

  5. Catfish

Your turn !!!!

Gratitude time!!

It's Gratitude Time !!!!!

  1. Sunshine

  2. My perfect health

  3. That my male cat is better today and has been playing hide and seek with me...I missed playing with him while he was sick!

  4. Directv

  5. My human senses

Your turn!!

My Dad....

Today is my Dad's birthday.  Today is also the day that my Dad chose to leave this planet and go back to the Otherside.  I had to laugh that he waited one full hour  .... he was in the Eastern Time Zone of the USA at the time of his death.  He waited until 1:08 AM EST.  He wanted to make sure it was his birthday in Central Time too as that was the time zone where we grew up as children.  That is SOOO Daddy.

Yes, I can talk to people on the Otherside.  Yes, I can hear my Dad.  Yes, we have lots of conversations and he makes lots of cracks while I'm in conversations with other people.  It still is not easy knowing that his BODY is no longer on this planet.  He's still Daddy.  I still smell cigars and he still has his very wry sense of humor.  I miss the human being that was my Daddy on this earth.  I miss being able to hug him and smell his aftershave in my nostrils and sit with him and laugh with him. I am VERY grateful that I can still experience him in spirit form!!!!

The dead are always around us.  You hear them in the form of your own thoughts. You catch smells or sounds that make your mind instantly go to someone who has passed over.  You know that's them orchestrating all that, right?  I have a TON of "ghost" stories.  I bet you do too !!  I would love to hear some of your tales. Please share !!  I'll go first.

My adoptive mother died in 1978. We buried her on a Friday and on Saturday morning, I woke up and smelled bacon.  I heard Mom singing and pots and pans banging in the kitchen just like every morning.  She was cooking us breakfast.  I got up, washed my face, brushed my teeth and ran down the stairs. The whole time I was getting ready, I heard Mom.  I could smell the food.  I heard her singing and humming and heard the pots and pans the ENTIRE time. As I came around the foyer, I noticed the kitchen door was closed which was odd.  We never closed the kitchen door.  As soon as my hand landed on the doorknob and started to open the door, everything stopped.  When the door opened, there was the empty kitchen and I remember we buried Mom the day before.

Ok - your turn!  :)

Silence.... fin.

I like to talk. A lot.  I like people to talk to me and I like to talk to them.  I like sounds. I talk to my cats, myself, the animals outside, people around me ..... I just like to talk.   So -- my vow of silence is OVER!!!  It was a success.  I didn't talk for a while.  I saw how much needless stuff I say / post.  I learned I love to talk to beings around me.  I am GRATEFUL for the ability to communicate...like immensely grateful for that!

When I called my cousin to talk to her, she said, "I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did!"  I guess that means the people around me KNOW I like to talk.  Chuckle.

I'm glad I did it.  I doubt I'll do it again.  I would recommend it.  So TALK to me !!!!  What did I miss in YOUR world ?

Silence 1.0

I just read a Tweet posted by @KenNg that says:
"Before you speak...ask yourself:  is it kind, is it necessary, is it TRUE, does it improve on the silence?" ~ Sai Baba

It's "funny" (odd funny - not ha ha funny), but I'm seeing and hearing lots of things about SILENCE now.  This tweet is a really good example.  Today's "AH HA" was about how much unnecessary stuff I say, type, post, repost or spend energy thinking / talking about.  I did not post near as much as I would have today and I do not feel like I missed out on something or did not post something I wanted to or should have.

A really good blog by James Van Praagh (Poet and didn't know it)

This morning I was reading one of my favorite sites - Heal Your Life - and I came across a new blog by James Van Praagh.  Check it out RIGHT HERE and check out the whole Heal Your Life site as well while you're over there.  It's free and loaded with lots of goodies for the soul!!

Silence ... Day .05

As I was driving today...in silence....a turkey buzzard happened to catch my eye as it made it's small concentrated circles in the sky.  As animal spirit guides, buzzards bring the following knowledge:

  • New vision

  • Purification

  • Death and rebirth

  • Prophecy

I found that quite interesting, considering today is Day 1 of this Silence thing.  So far so good.  No big "AH HA"s as of yet.  It's not a whole lot different from my normal life so far.  I'll see what tomorrow brings.  Today brought a buzzard...for which I am grateful.  I look forward to learning the lessons to come from both the buzzard and silence.

What animals do you have around you or that happen to "catch" your eye?

Change... resistance...

There are a few "Teachers" that I use, listen to, read on a daily basis.  One of those is John Assaraf.  He has programs out that make sense to my "Virgo" brain.  He presents his information from a standpoint of science first.  His new program, "Winning the Inner Game of Money" ( a repeat Webinar is coming up soon if you want to see it:  Click here ) is teaching me LOTS and LOTS of new things.  He includes a manual with the program and this morning, while re-reading the manual, I read the following:
Sometimes when you strive to achieve something you have not yet experienced before, you  encounter resistance from other people, your environment, and yourself— often before you have even started. A deep desire for change starts from the inside out.

I think that's why so many people start off on new programs and new paths and then just stop dead or fizzle out.  Rhonda Britten tells us that fear's job is to keep us safe and change is NOT safe...even positive change.  Another thing that John Assaraf said that I "heard" on deep levels was "Are you interested in or committed to real change?"

If you are committed to any type of change in your life be it spiritual growth, weight loss, new exercise program, whatever .... you may want to ask yourself the above question.  Are you interested or committed?  Are you willing to do whatever it takes to keep the program going?  There are going to be times that you just do not want to continue.  The biggest resistance in any change comes from ourselves.  It's natural.

Be loving to yourself, pick yourself up, and continue on with your program because you are, after all, committed to change and not just interested in it.  Right ? :)  Onward and upward my friends!

Silence....

I have come to realize, over the last few months or so, that I must not have a very good command of the human language.  Over the past 2 weeks alone, I have dealt with this issue many times over.

I have decided that I am going to embark on a vow of silence.  The only questions I will be answering are ones that clients pay me to answer.  The only conversations I will be having are the ones in my head with my God, and absolutely necessary ones with my family or ones that are needed to keep my day-to-day life moving forward.   It may last 2 minutes, it may last 200 years.  I know that I absolutely, positively MUST step back from language.  I will no longer be held responsible for "making" people FEEL certain feelings or emotions because of my words.  I will no longer be held responsible for things that people hold against me and do not want to heal inside of themselves.

I am realizing - FULLY - that any conversations I have in my life right now are rarely authentic.  I just THINK or wish they are.  Some people around me lie to me.  Some people around me want themselves to look a certain way and come from a place of ego.  Some people around me take everything I say and twist it to fit into their belief system and get mad at me for it.  Some people around me are stuck in the past and refuse to come out of it.  I read this quote this morning:
There is no such thing as conversation.  It is an illusion.  There are intersecting monologues, that is all.  ~Rebecca West (Cicily Maxwell Andrews), "The Harsh Voice," There Is No Conversation, 1935

I had an "AH HA" moment upon reading that quote.  All of the above stated issues with conversations around me can be healed by me taking a vow of silence.  I can learn - or re-learn - the proper use of language -- or not.  Who knows...I may never speak again!!!!!

I guess why I'm posting all this is to ask for your support in my quest for clarity.  I will be starting on Monday afternoon at 3 PM CST.  I will still be blogging about my experiences but I will not be commenting or replying on Facebook or Twitter.  Thanks ahead of time!

Day after Thanksgiving.....

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. There is no commercialism involved. I don't walk through stores listening to Thanksgiving music. I am not inundated with Thanksgiving commercials. I don't have to buy anything. I don't have to dress up or show up anywhere. I am NOT expected to go to church. It's just lots of food, family, friends, and football. What a GREAT day !!!!!!

I love the day after Thanksgiving as well.  There is this peace and calm that comes over my world.  I do not do Black Friday shopping.  I stay home, work, eat left overs, take a nap and enjoy the peace of the day.  I also bask in the things for which I have to be grateful.  So here is today's gratitude list:

  1. Rain!!!

  2. My clients

  3. My children being home together

  4. The animal friends who choose me to live with

  5. My perfect health

What are YOU grateful for today ?!?

Early mornings.....

First thing this morning, I just stayed in bed listening to the sounds of the house.  I got up and went to the room that is usually empty.  My daughter is home.  It's her room.  I could hear her breathing slowly as she slept.  I walked to my son's room and listened to his breathing / snoring / grinding teeth .... and all kinds of man noises.  ( GRIN )

I was and still am TRULY happy.  Having them both home at the same time is a wonderful thing.  So here is today's Gratitude List:

  1. My children making it home safely for Thanksgiving.

  2. Early mornings and quiet time that they bring.

  3. Coffee.

  4. My perfect health.

  5. Food on grocery store shelves.

What are YOU thankful for ?

Gratitude check .....

This morning the coolest thing happened .... but let me back up some first !  My cousin bought a house VERY close to my house.  She started remodeling and has not had a kitchen.  I have to cook for my house anyway so she's been coming for dinner, cooking what she needs at my house, etc.  It has not been a problem or an issue in any way for me.  I'm sure that you can imagine how she must have felt though.  I'm sure it was hard depending on someone else's kitchen.  Granted...we're kin and we're close but it was still hard on her.

She got her kitchen installed this past week and last night was the first night that she was able to cook in her brand new kitchen.  She made homemade pizza.  Awesome!!  So now we get to this morning .... she sends me an Instant Message and tells me that she has homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs, bacon and coffee all going...and get this part...IF I wanted some.  IF... I laughed out loud.  Free breakfast on a Sunday morning!?!?  I was so there.  I actually got there before the biscuits came out of the oven.  Chuckle!!!

So today I am grateful for:

My cousin's completed kitchen

Open windows and a great breeze on November 21st

Cats in the windowsills who look SO happy

The ability to hear the sounds from the outside

Thanksgiving week !!!!

What are YOU grateful for today ?

Authentic conversations......

Yesterday I made a phone call that was 10 years in the making.  From Point A to Point Z, someone wronged me GREATLY and it has taken me this long to forgive and prepare for the conversation that had to come as a result.  Yesterday was that day.  I made the call, heard her voice, hung up promptly.  I walked around, talked to myself and God, redialed, heard her voice, wanted to hang up.  I did not hang up.  I said her name.  I could go on and on however, I will not.  The bottom line is that I spoke my truth, and I listened to her truth.   Her truth is NOT my truth so my ego and fears and angers wanted to jump up to defend me.  I took lots of deep breaths and kept reminding myself of my tools and that I had a "center point" and to keep going there to that place of balance.  I stayed centered and balanced.  I only made one jab and for those that know me, you know that's HUGE!!!!  (grin)

The fact that I carried this around for ten years is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT my fault.  I wore it like a wet, wool blanket.  I realize now that I can choose to forgive at ANY time.  One day or one decade.  It's my choice.  I also realize that her truth is not my truth and never will be.  I also realize that my truth is something she has never been able to hear and, more than likely, will never be able to hear.  That does not matter any more.  I spoke my truth.  I did it in a calm manner with no intentions of anything other than to speak my truth.  I listened to her.  I was given the opportunity to say nine of the most important words I have ever said to that woman.  "I am sorry. Please forgive me.  I forgive you."   There is a part of Travis Tritt's song "No More Looking Over My Shoulder" that says:
I could chill a room with reasons why I would not give forgiveness
To the people who had selfishly left me a wounded soul
I kept dragging 'round those memories
Like a ball and chain behind me
Wonderin' why my troubles followed me wherever I would go
Oh, but one night, sick and tired of being sick and tired
I realized forgiveness was the only open road
I swear I heard those shackles snap
The moment that I took that path
I never have one time looked back since the morning I arose

I can relate to that song.  I am also grateful beyond words for the freedom that those nine words that I was able to say, out loud have now brought me.   So my friends, who do you have to forgive?  Of whom do you need to ask forgiveness?

A cool Lakota prayer

A site I have bookmarked on my toolbar is Heal Your Life .  Today I read Chris Prelitz's blog called "The Four Directions".   It's fabulous.  So I decided to share:
Last month I was on the Lakota reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota attending a Native American Sundance. One of the most profound experiences I had was having an elder teach me the traditional Four Directions Prayer.

It has become a favorite way for me to connect deeply with both spirit and nature. I'm using it to start and end each day. Traditionally, sage or sweetgrass is burnt and offered to the four directions as you pray from your heart.

I trust you'll find it a powerful way to connect and walk more deeply in beauty:

Four Directions Prayer

(Stand facing South)

Great Spirit,

Thank you for this day,

for the breath and life within me,

and for all of your creations.

As I face South, I allow the spirit of All Possibilities to

wash over me.

Wherever I have fear or doubt, I trust that answers will

come.

Show me it is right for me to make decisions

with my heart, even if at times, my heart becomes hurt.

Help me to grow and nurture my self-worth in all ways.

(When you feel the expansion of all possibilities, turn to

face West.)

The West is the direction where the White Buffalo lives.

White Buffalo stands for strength, bravery and courage.

As you breathe in, allow the power and energy of the White

Buffalo spirit to wash over you and awaken your warrior

within.

(When you feel that powerful presence, turn to face the

North.)

The North is the direction where the black-tailed deer lives.

This is the direction of the spirit energy of humbleness and

humility.

As you breathe in, allow your soul and spirit to be touched

with humbleness,

knowing that all we are, and all that we have, comes from

the Great Spirit.

(When you truly feel touched with grateful humbleness,

turn to the East.)

The East is the land of the Eagle—the symbol for wisdom

and discernment.

I ask the spirit of the Eagle to be with me.

Sharpen my eyes and ears to hear your direction on my

path.

Guide my steps, my actions, and my every word.

(When you feel a deeper connection to the eagle’s

wisdom, turn back and face the South)

Great Father Spirit and Mother Earth,

Thank you for your beauty, and for all you have given me.

Help me to remember to love and feel compassion for all

creation.

Help me to walk my path with joy and love for myself, for

others,

for the four-legged, the winged ones, the plants and all

creation.

Remind me never to take from you more than I need,

and remind me to always give back more than I take.

Upon first meeting.....

I promised that in this blog I would talk about my life experiences as a working psychic.  One of the things that happens over and over is that, as soon as someone learns what I do for a living, that someone immediately ask me for a reading.  It comes in the form of, "What can you tell me about myself?"  "Do you think I'm going to marry ______ ( fill in the blank with a name )?"  "Can you tell me something about myself that you couldn't possibly know?"  I usually have to take a deep breath, and restrain myself from saying, "Yes, I can.  You are rude for one thing.  Do you ask a doctor to diagnose you at a party?  Do you ask a lawyer you meet in an elevator for free legal advise?  Wait, let me consult my crystal ball.  No.  You do not.  So why on earth do you think it's ok to ask ME to work for free???"  I stopped being surprised by people's rudeness years ago.  So now I just grin at them and give them the pat answer which is, "Yes."

The next thing that usually happens is the person's eyes open REALLY wide, I see the "oh crap, she can read my mind!!!" look come into their eyes and they literally take a step backward.  Then they stand there looking at me, looking at the ground, the sky, anything passing by, then back to me.

So here it is.  No, I don't work for free and, quite frankly, it's rude that you would expect me to.  No, I don't read your mind when I meet you.  I do get gut instincts and a download of information but so do you.  Yes, I do know if you're telling me the truth or not.   No, I'm not "always turned on" by CHOICE.  I choose to live my life like any other "human being".  Yes, I listen to my gut and let it guide me.

Feel free to ask me questions about what life is like.  I'd be happy to answer them...for the most part! :)

From The Secret Daily Teachings....

Rhonda Byrne sends out "Daily Teachings".   This was one I read sitting in my mail box today:

Imagine writing an email of what you want to the Universe. When you are happy that your email is very clear, you hit "Send" and you know your request has gone into the ethers. You also know that the Server of the Universe is an automatic system, and it doesn't question email requests. Its job is simply to fulfil every request.

If you begin to worry and stress that you haven't got what you wanted, then you have just sent another email to the Universe to stop your order. And then you wonder why you haven't received what you asked for.

Once you Ask, know that the Server of the Universe is an automatic infallible system that never fails, and expect to receive your request!

May the joy be with you,
Rhonda Byrne

Rain ...... again ........

In yesterday's blog, I spoke about how I was going to just go ahead and be thankful for rain even though it was not here.  I could picture it falling on the flowers, plants, trees, grass, fields, etc. around my house.  Guess what happened?  That's right.  It started raining.  OK granted....it was in the forecast but I still choose to believe that I created that rain around my house.  You're welcome Alabama!  :)   chuckling ...........  SO with GREAT flourish I present today's Gratitude List:

Socks....and other stuff

This morning I woke up and stepped on the cold wood floor and I padded across the rough area rug and onto the cold tile of the bathroom.  I then felt the warm plushness of the bathroom throw rugs.  I stood there being grateful for the fact that those rugs were there.  They are soft, fuzzy and warm.  I went about my morning duties and my feet were getting colder and colder.

I went and got a pair of socks and pulled them on and padded back down the hallway.  I heard in my head, "remember they didn't have socks OR shoes."  I saw a mental picture of a Civil War soldier.  The confederate army could not afford food let alone uniforms.  Most of the troops wore what they had.  When they lost or wore through their shoes, they just didn't have any.   I looked at the outside temperature and it said 43 degrees.  I walked outside and I took off my sock and put my foot down on the ground. The concrete was bitter cold to my foot.  I then hopped over and put my foot down on the grass.  It was cold and wet.

I had the luxury of picking my foot up, wiping it off and putting my sock and shoe back on.  Men and women in history, and even RIGHT now, do not have that luxury.  For my socks, I am ETERNALLY grateful.  Thank you for my socks!!!

[caption id="attachment_47" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Why???"][/caption]

What are you grateful for today?  To add a little bit...who can you help today?  Can you buy a pack of socks and drop them off in the bins that collect used clothing for charity?
