After two days of Dog Dog Dog.... I came home, passed out on my floor, opened my eyes and saw my fuzzy wonderful black cat friend laying next to me. He was sleeping. He wasn't snoring or farting or barking. He was just laying there.
Now don't get me wrong - dogs are cool animals...just as long as I can send them home with their owners. :) I LOVE my cousin's dogs. I watch them on Monday when she does late Yoga Class at her office. They usually have fun. Yesterday, one was so tired she was miserable and the other one barked non-stop. In, out, in, out, in, out. I realized that cats don't need help. They just do whatever it is they want OR they are patient and wait until you notice them. They may meow but even if they meow at the top of their kitty lungs, NON STOP, it's still not as loud or incessant as a bark.
Then today I went with my Black Man dog friend and his freaked out Mom - my cousin - to get his leg stitched up. He was brave. I usually don't do very well at those kinds of things but .... you know. I love him and he needed me to be the calm one. He was barking and scared. Poor man. He's better now. All fixed up.
I realized... when cats jump on me I can hardly feel them. When dogs jump on me I need an adjustment. When cats want my attention, they just come look at me and tell me what they want. When dogs want my attention, they jump and bark REALLY loudly.
My dear feline friends.... I love you for your quietness, your patience, your independence. I love you for playing with me when YOU want to - not ALL the time. I love you for requiring so little of me and my time and attention and yet, somehow, we spend all day together every day... in this quiet, calm, peace-full manner. I love you for your strength and your ability to live...completely independent of any other being's aid. I love that you allow me to take care of some of you.
Thank you! It is MY pleasure.
