I went and got a pair of socks and pulled them on and padded back down the hallway. I heard in my head, "remember they didn't have socks OR shoes." I saw a mental picture of a Civil War soldier. The confederate army could not afford food let alone uniforms. Most of the troops wore what they had. When they lost or wore through their shoes, they just didn't have any. I looked at the outside temperature and it said 43 degrees. I walked outside and I took off my sock and put my foot down on the ground. The concrete was bitter cold to my foot. I then hopped over and put my foot down on the grass. It was cold and wet.
I had the luxury of picking my foot up, wiping it off and putting my sock and shoe back on. Men and women in history, and even RIGHT now, do not have that luxury. For my socks, I am ETERNALLY grateful. Thank you for my socks!!!

What are you grateful for today? To add a little bit...who can you help today? Can you buy a pack of socks and drop them off in the bins that collect used clothing for charity?
